We all have embarrassing situations and after them we learn something new. Life can’t be perfect and occasionally we have to feel awkward.
A year ago, I was staying with my older cousin in another city. We usually spend every summer together and we are really close to each other. On one day, we went to a big department store to do shopping. We were walking in the store looking for home supplies, and I also wanted to get my mother a mug. I saw a bench with various mugs and they all were lovely. Sure, I started selecting a one, but it was hard decision. Therefore I asked my sister to help, and when we chose 2 options, accidentally I dropped both. It was a loud sound and many people payed attention to me. Afterward, store workers came and asked to compensate for broken mugs. My reaction was instant: my face became pink. I felt shameful and uncomfortable, because then I had to pay and I just wasted money. In addition, I didn’t get a present for my mother.
My sister convinced me it wasn’t a big deal, but I felt nervous and then thought about it a lot.I payed for the mugs, thus decided to make another gift for my mom. In conclusion, I learnt that sometimes there are mortifying things which we need to be more relaxed about. It’s okay to experience failure, it teaches us. So, the next time I’ll be more careful at the shop!
