Some people believe that studying history and literature is more important than science and mathematics. In this essay, we will discuss is this true.
– Nowadays studying math and science is essential for students, because these subjects equip them with the knowledge, which is necessary to make new discoveries. As a result, advancements in these fields will improve human living conditions. Additionally, I believe that today career prospects in science, IT, math and engineering are better paid and in highly sought after.
– On the other hand, such subjects as history and literature are valuable too. They not only teach us to analyze mistakes that were done in the past, but also provide valuable lessons. For example, world wars showed us severe consequences of the conflicts. So now we try to avoid them. Furthermore, reading the works of great writers on literature lessons, we expand our vocabulary, learn how to speak eloquently which is a fundamental aspect of high society.
– However, history aimed on the past events that we can’t influence or change. I don’t argue that it’s significant to know about your origins, culture and ancestors, but in my point of view, studying to develop and improve our tomorrow day should a priority. As the saying goes, «don’t dwell on the past, focus on the future»
– All in all, if I had to choose on which subjects students should more focus on, I would name mathematics and science subjects. These fields not only open doors to better career opportunities, but also play a more crucial role in modern society.
