Band 4+: Even though globalization affects the world’s economies in a very positive way, its negative side should not be forgotten. Discuss.

Globalization has a positive impact on the worldwide growth of economy, however its detrimental effect cannot be underlooked. This essay agrees with the former notion, Nonetheless both the views will be discussed in the looming paragraphs.

To commence with, the major impact of globalization is in the field of technology, nowadays technology is flourishing with leaps and bounds which has made human work much more easier then before. For instance, the invention of robots has reduced physical exertion. Recently, a lot of automated devices has been established which can clear the entire home without any human intervention. Also, Alexa which is one of the best examples of technological advancements can do each and every task by itself thereby providing convenience to human in their work. Additionally, globalization has lead to significant increase in employment rate. To be more precise, these days a lot of MNC’s has been set up which provides wide range of job opportunities to individuals in every sector. Moreover, advances in technology has opened new avenues for people as they can do a job of their own interest.

Despite the aforementioned benefits there are some downsides of it as well. Firstly, globalization has disrupted the environment. To exemplify it, deforestation is being carried on a large scale with the motive of opening more MNC’s and setting up new industries for economical growth. Consequently, cutting of trees has contributed highly in global warming which is affecting the environment. In addition to this, burgeoning transportation facilities paved way for catastrophic situations. For example, few years earlier a contagious infection broke out worldwide and the reason for its spread was commutation that is possible were travelling to places where there was extensive spread of disease and the spreading it all over the world.

Recaptulating it, although globalization is a boon to mankind due to the ease it provide to people in their work and the rise in employment but its negatives such as harming environment and commutation leading to hazardous situations cannot be neglected
