Migration between different countries has become increasingly more frequent over the past years and it influences not only the individuals, but also the overall society. There are several advantages and disadvantages connected to both immigration and emigration, and this essay will discuss both sides. In my opinion, the overall advantages of migration outweigh the associated drawbacks.
First of all, migration process contributes to increasing of competition for work places between local residents and migrants. As a result, this may support job creation and expand the available labour pool. Consequently it leads to domestic economic growth. Regarding to education system, foreign staff provides program and experience exchange. For instance, Kazakhstan has seen the establishment of international university campuses, such as Wusong and Cardiff, staffed by foreign academics. Personally, I believe that in the long term, this will enhance the education system and lead to the development of highly qualified professionals who can compete internationally.
On the other hand, migration can also bring some disadvantages. On the individual level, language barriers and cultural differences can make it difficult for newcomers to integrate into society. In addition, at the societal level, immigration can sometimes create pressure, especially when a country has to accept a large number of refugees from war. In such situations, not all of them may be able to adapt quickly. Another disadvantage is the pressure migration can place on public services, such as healthcare, housing, and transportation. When a large number of immigrates arrive in a short period of time, these systems may become overcrowded, leading to longer waiting times and reduced quality of services for local residents. This can create tension within the community and make it harder for both migrants and citizens to feel comfortable and secure.
To recapitulate, migration brings both benefits and challenges for individuals and society. While it can stimulate economic development, improve the education system, and create a more diverse environment, it may also result in difficulties related to integration and increased pressure on public services. However, I still believe that the positive effects of migration are stronger than the drawbacks, especially when governments implement effective policies to support both migrants and local communities.
