Air pollution, which constitutes a major part of the Earth’s problems, is contributing to bad medical conditions which affect humans’ wellness each and every year. While there are different causes of this, I would argue that governments can take steps to tackle this issue.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why air pollution is increasing day by day. One of the main causes is emissions from vehicles and industrial factories. There are more private cars on the roads and factories than in the past, and this gives rise to air pollution as they generate carbon dioxide emissions which are the main source of pollution in the air. In addition to this, agricultural activities, such as deforestation can be another reason for toxic air. Trees are able to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the air because of the process of photosynthesis. If there were no activity like cutting trees, there would be fewer individuals with health conditions.
However, there are various measures that can be taken to overcome air pollution problems. Firstly, governments should increase and improve public transportation systems in both rural and urban areas, and encourage people to use them nad avoid private cars. In order to achieve this, governments had better tax private vehicles heavily, or increase the cost of petrol and parking. Secondly, companies should produce more environmentally-friendly cars, such as electric ones instead of privately-owned automobiles. Finally, there must be more lectures about the negative impacts of pollution, and the authorities have to ensure punishment to those who cut trees for commercial purposes or burn fossil fuels, namely imposing heavy fines.
In conclusion, in spite of the fact that air pollution is caused by various factors, in terms of non-public automobiles, and harmful agricultural activities, there are also a wide range of keys to deal with these problems, such as taxes, or encouraging the use of public transportation.
