Every year millions of people around the world suffer from poor health as a result of air pollution. Due to this fact scientists have to find new ways to prevent earth contamination which appears to be a real threat to humanity.
To begin with, discussion about air pollution forces to focus on the reasons for such a vital and massive problem. Normally air consists of large amount of oxygen and nitrogen with the addition of carbon dioxide, and this mix of chemicals is the only comfortable blend for breathing. However, there is a noticeable difference between air composition now and 50 years ago because of the increasing number of factories and cars each year. Acid rains, smog, global warming and melting of Arctic ice— human activity caused all these issues also leading to for instance a decreased soil fertility, changes in landscape and rise of natural disasters which are likely to become more frequent.
Besides, many of people nowadays trying to find solutions for these problems and avoid Earth destruction. Some of the ways are pretty simple but to achieve the results everyone has to be involved. One of the most obvious things is to try to stop using cars, that fuelled with leaded petrol. Planting more trees and reducing plastic waste in the oceans and streets also may work. In addition, plenty of politicians and public figures raise public awareness about alternative sources of energy, such as solar, wind and hydro power, but the process of producing these kinds of energy isn’t so ecological and harmless as social media are trying to show.
In conclusion, air pollution is a crucial problem which has tons of sources and today the only thing we can do about it is to understand that we are leaving earth for our descendants who are not going to be happy about the fact that they have to live in a landfill-like place. Saving the planet is our duty and we must at least realise what needs to be done.
