It is a fact that there are a lot of languages in the world, but year by year some of them just disappear. A group of people believe that this is not crucial problem due to the fact that if there are fewer languages communication will be easier. This essay argues with that statement, because diversity of the world languages has a lot of benefits for the individuals and societies as well.
It is argued that of thousand languages that have existed today, certain amount of them extinct every year. The main reason of the disappearance was due to the globalization and educational process, which affects to communication in international languages such as English, French and German. An interaction of populations from all parts of the planet goes through commonly-used languages, which leads to less using their native languages and there is the commence of extinction some languages. Like for instance, many young people from developing countries take exams in foreign languages such English, in order to study abroad in prestige universities to improve their educational skills. And in many cases, they remain in other country, furthermore, over time they will stop using their own languages.
On the other hand, most common used languages are witness of uniqueness of cultures. It is necessary to maintain the diversity of world languages since each of them represents identity of nation and community. Even though some of the languages might only be spoken by several people, it has an important function to pass on the heritage of ancestors to the future generation. For example, traditional myths which are written by hand or oral fairytales, if they die out, then the culture would also be lost.
In conclusion, some people argue that disappearing of minority languages is not important issue, whilst I believe that if people lose their native language, they will lose their culture and future as a nation.
