It is true that as technology develops, people have quick access to movies and electronic games. While there are some benefits of this trend, I personally believe that drawbacks, such as health problems and weak social interactions, easily outweigh them.
First and foremost, sitting in front of the screen for a long time has significant impact on one’s health. The main reason for that is most of the electronic devices give off waves which are harmful to human body. While some people might say they have screen time limits, most people are careless about their health, and can easily forget about those limits. One person on average can spend hours in a day playing video games or watching movies. This may lead to problems, including eye strain, headache, and sleep disorder. Since health is one of the main assets of human beings, these are drawbacks which cannot be ignored.
Secondly, by spending more time alone, individuals tend to become more socially inactive. With comparison to going to cinema and playing outdoor games – soccer, volleyball, or even table games – virtual games and movies watched online do not require partner or partners to complete them. In this case, people do not discuss movies aftermath, or games after they over. Eventually they lose their communicative skills. As a result, a society could turn a group of people who do not care about each other, creating a more isolated and disconnected society.
In conclusion, I remain reassured that disadvantages of ease access to movies and games outweigh advantages, since it may cause several health problems and even worse can negatively impact on society.
