It is true that film is currently able to be produced by individuals or small groups rather than only by large corporations like before. Personally, I think this trend will bring positive improvements because of several reasons.
With the fact that films can be made by people, there would be a diverse type of film. In fact, large companies tend to make state of the art movies or TV series, while individuals can make their own shorts videos, which could then be published on youtube, tiktok, or instagram social media platforms. For example, FAP TV, a small youtube channel, mainly record short comedy stories about their daily life, later attracting small type of audiences. Therefore, the introduction of short videos by small groups of people will be interested for certain type of viewers.
In addition, when film production is easily accessible by all subjects, it would create more job opportunities for anyone who really want to try out in this film industry. This is because the effort they spend on creating their own contents is not quite intensive like in the past thanks to the help of modern technology. Consequently, this would reduce the unemployment rate in a country, where some graduated previously could not find jobs related to their major. My friend, for instance, who could not find a suitable job with his Computer Science diploma after graduation because of the highly competitive job market, become a content creator in making short videos on his tiktok channel, which he shares his Information Technology knowledge in his major to viewers who interest.
In conclusion, the production of film, which previously is done by large companies, by everyone can brings positive developments because it target wider range of audiences as well as create more job opportunities
