Over the last 30-40 years, the consumption of fresh water has increased significantly; new factories and technologies appeared, and just household needs became higher. Whilst the subsequences became noticeable and had influence on people daily life. Moreovere, this trend become one of the most complex global problem.
The first reason of this case is the significant raise of different factories and plants. In fact, no one usually think about, how much fresh water we need to produse some product. For example, there was an fascinating research about conpanie’s “water footprint”, which shows than McDonald’s need approximately 2400 liters of fresh water to prepare only one BigMac. The second reason is the growth of population and cities and, thence, an increasing of the household water consumption. For instance, according to the statistic in the Great Britan one family (3-4 people) use 120-160 liters of fresh water every day.
Nevertheless, there sre some progpams and solutions of such subsequences. Of course, not one of them is not a panacea: they would be helpfull only in complex using. Overall, the main idea of all of them is ecological view of the consumption of fresh water. Firstly, big companies could review their production and less the water needs. Also, it might be a new regulation from the governments. For example, there are such a rules in the Scandinavian countries. Secondly, every person should think about his or her own contribution to the problem and to the solution; citizen should develop eco-habits. For instance, parents could start this traditions for their children, or there might be special eco-programs in kids gardens or in the primiry schools.
Finally, during next few yaers, the population could face with some more destroying problems. But I would like to underline that the most significant thing we could do is to start from our own small daily steps to keep fresh water and our planet for the next generations.
