In recent years, many people have argued that nowadays good manners in public places are becoming less common. I agree that there are a tendency of people with bad behaviour, however, good manners have not disappeared completely. Many people still behave respectfully in public and understand the importance of politeness.
On the other hand, there are some reasons why people may think that manners are declining. Modern lifestyles are often busy and stressful, therefore people can be less patient towards others. In addition, new technologies, social media, and internet changed the way how people interact with each other. It is now common to see individuals talking on their phones loudly, ignoring other people’s comfort. What is more, some people do not even follow basic rules of public behaviour, such as waiting their turn and not throwing their trash on public areas. Actually, people who are not following basic rules are my pet peeves. Especially when someone is pollutes beautiful places, it drives me crazy.
On the other hand, good manners are still important part of social life. Parents, adults, and schools continue to teach children how to behave respectfully and responsibly. In many cases, people still demonstrate kindness and respect by helping strangers, offering seats to elderly passengers, and showing respect in public places. As a result, polite behaviour is still common in many communities.
In conclusion, I partly agree that good manners in public places are becoming less common, because examples of rude people are easy to notice. However, I believe that many people continue to be polite and teach children to act normally. Good manners are still the important part of everyday life.
