English is very important to me because it is one of the most spoken languages in the world. It is mainly used in communication, education, business, and technology. Moreover, it is a primary language in developed countries such as the U.S.A., the U.K., Canada, and Australia. Therefore, it opens doors to many opportunities, whether in my career, education, or personal growth. Speaking and understanding English will help me communicate with people from around the world. It will give me access to information, books, online courses, and job opportunities that I would not have without it. Learning English has been a journey full of challenges and excitement.
Before I started learning English, I felt nervous and lacked the confidence to have a face-to-face conversation with foreigners and to ask or answer the teacher’s questions. I struggled with many challenges such as reading, speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, and comprehension. However, I refused to give up. I kept practicing and believed that if others could learn English, I could too. I received great support from my parents, friends, and international volunteers at the Brother Mouse and E4E. They encouraged me, saying, “Don’t be shy or worried; just believe in yourself; you can do it; keep going.” Their advice helped me gain more confidence.
For two years, I have been learning and practicing English. My English has improved, and I have become more comfortable using English. Even though I am not as fluent as others, I can communicate with others, and seeing the difference between my English in the past and now gives me more confidence to keep going. In the future, I will use English in my job, learning, traveling, and helping others. It will help me communicate with people from different countries, learn new things, and create more opportunities. I will continue to improve my English skills to make the most of them in many parts of my life.
