Band 6+: Human activities caused harm to various plant and animals. Some people argue that nothing can be done, while others believe that actions can be taken

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The detrimental effect of human pursuits on various flora and fauna has sparked considerable debate among individuals. Some contend that this impact cannot be reversed, while others believe that alternative measures can make a difference. This essay will discuss both perspectives before concluding with my viewpoint.

First and foremost, human activities have a lasting negative influence on various plants and animals that is non-reversible. For instance, a vast number of creatures have gone extinct due to air and water pollution, climate change or hunting down animals for entertainment or consumption purposes, and these species cannot be brought back into the ecosystem. These practices have led to global warming, which is the main source of forest fires, a recent one being the great Amazon forest fires. Additionally, many species lost their homes that cannot be brought back, and the rising global temperatures cannot be brought down, which is why some believe that it is too late to do anything.

However, others believe that proper strategic actions can be taken in order to control these prominent issues. Firstly, governments must draft strict regulations against cutting down trees and causing harm to animals, which if not abided could lead to serious consequences. For example, this law is already being implemented in several Asian countries, such as Japan, where people are heavily fined, if the rules are not abided. Moreover, wide-scale education, awareness programmes and green initiatives can help people understand the gravity of the situation and work towards the conservation of biodiversity. Research shows that 80% of commercial stores today have adopted the Go Green scheme by replacing plastic bags with paper bags.

In conclusion, while people think that nothing can be done, I believe that effective measures, such as awareness and preservation projects, can eventually diminish the effects caused by human deeds. In my opinion, although human actions lead to these consequences, they also have the capability to build strong strategic development plans and bring a significant transformation.
