Human activity has severely degraded ecosystems worldwide, raising global concern about environmental protection. Whilst some people argue that this problem cannot be solved, I believe that we can take effective actions to preserve the environment. In this essay, I will discuss both views and give my opinion in detail.
On the one hand, some people believe that environmental problems caused by human activities cannot be solved effectively. Although industrial development brings economic benefits, it also produces large amounts of carbon emissions that are poorly managed and released into the atmosphere. This polluted air can lead to serious health issues, such as respiratory diseases, among people living nearby. For example, the air quality in Hanoi was reported to be extremely unhealthy in December due to excessive carbon emissions. Therefore, many argue that these problems are too complex to be completely resolved.
On the other hand, I believe that we can still take effective actions to protect the environment. Education also plays a vital role in shaping people’s awareness of environmental protection; schools and media campaigns can encourage citizens to adopt greener lifestyles. For instance, several cities in Vietnam have launched tree-planting and clean-up campaigns that help improve air quality and restore local ecosystems. These initiatives not only make the surroundings cleaner but also foster a sense of community responsibility. Thus, with joint efforts from both authorities and citizens, the situation can be significantly improved, and the planet can gradually recover.
In conclusion, although human activities have caused considerable harm to ecosystems, from my personal standpoint, environmental problems can be solved effectively by raising individual awareness of preservation.
