Affect on the environment of a rising goods production has grown into a planetary scale problem. The essay discusses the ecological worldwide challanges of the modern society and suggests the ways to cope with them.
The root of the problem lies in humen relactance of being responsible for the future when it conflicts with their immedaite interests. Production chains are often extreme hazardous to the ecology, however manufacturers admit them because of their cheap cost. Similarly, many people are too lazy to keep litter with them until they meet a liiter bin, so they throw it into the rivers and usually have no clue they’re likely donating into growth of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Additionaly, even if the garbage was not thrown so careless, it would probably be buried on the special field and then will slowly damage the soil around because of the lack of recylcing facilities.
To avoid сatastrophe, best environmental initiatives must be introduced worldwide such as fines and extra taxes for non green suppliers or litter recycling system development. For instance, in Germany, when purchasing a plastic bottle, people pay 25 cents deposit which could be returned by handing in the bottle for reuse. Moreover, the government charges producers who uses undisposable packages, thereafter eco-friendly materials are made more affordable and more attractive for manufacturers. Such approach was extremely successful and led to roughly 98% plastic recylcing rate in Germany.
In conclusion, I think beside the fact that increased production and consumption affected ecology a lot, it is still possible to turn the situation back by application of the best methods.
