Progress never stops, and nowadays the level of comfort people have has become commonplace. In the last few years, medicine has become more accessible, even in the most remote areas. Therefore, life expectancy is increasing. However, there are both positive and negative sides to this.
Firstly, longer life expectancy means that older generations can pass on their knowledge and experience. This helps younger people learn faster and avoid mistakes. This also helps maintain traditions and social values. Moreover, longer life expectancy allows people to spend more time with their loved ones, increasing happiness. This can improve emotional well-being and reduce loneliness. Furthermore, older generations live to see the progress that they contributed to, which makes them feel satisfied.
On the other hand, when older generations live longer, it sometimes makes it harder for younger generations to implement more innovative ideas. This can slow down overall progress in some areas. Another drawback is that older generations often hold more property and wealth, which creates challenges for younger generations to own property. As a result, younger people may have fewer opportunities. Finally, a growing elderly population puts strain on the economy and social systems. This may also lead to higher taxes for the working population.
In my opinion, despite its advantages, this trend also has clear limitations. Society should continue to develop rather than remain static. At the same time, it is important to honor cultural and historical heritage, maintaining a balance between the past and future. This is important for long-term development.
