These days most people tend to move to major cities, and with unequal distribution in population between rural and urban areas, the effects caused are questioned. Whether, if this one sided urbanisation has a positive or negative impact
To begin with, rapid growth in numbers is never a good sign. Over population will eventually result in increased house prices, due to insufficient land spaces for accommodation. Resources within the city could potentially lack, which again will affect the prices of it, for example food ,electricity , water and many more. Transportation is also heavily impacted due to crowding. Squashing and pushing in public transports will intensify, which could even lead to casualties. Pollution is another factor which will worsen, both noise and air pollutions will dramatically increase as more vehicles will be on the road.
In addition to this, rural areas will suffer due to deficiency in numbers of people. Most facilities will shut down, as it will be extremely difficult to manage with low rates of customers. Access to high education will be limited, preventing the whole country from receiving equal level of teaching. Furthermore, rural areas wont able to grow their infrastructures, which may lead to their extinctions as people will constantly leave the area. Lastly, the inequality mentioned above will continue, and most likely to stretch even more, as people will seek to move out and plan to never return.
In conclusion, problems associated with urbanisation are solvable, but issues due to increasing population are extremely challenging. Hence government should be at the front foot to lead the community, as how they react to these problems will dramatically decide the future.
