Band 4+: In many countries around the world young people decide to leave their parents’ home once they finish school. They start living on their own or sharing a home with friends. Is this a positive or a negative development?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Many youngsters around the globe are deciding to live on their own or with friends rather than with parents, after completing school education. It is thought by others, this is a positive development. I completely disagree with this statement because often they have to suffer alone from wrong decisions as well as their responsibilities can also increase.

To begin with, there is lack of emotional support for people who live separately from their parents because they often hesitate to share their thoughts. To elaborate it, many individuals who decide to live on their own, often make decisions regarding their lifestyle without advices from others. As they recently start living individually, sometimes their decisions outcomes would be not be as they expected. There is hesitation in children of admitting their mistakes in front of friends and parents. For instance, many international learners often make bad financial decisions, due to most of them never had been lived indepentally in their home country

Furthermore, there is more responsibilities on the shoulder of a person who live far from their parents because they have to take all the responsibility of house. In other words, there are many tasks which have to be done at home such as cooking, washing and maintaining home appliances.if children live with their parents, then all the house members can put equal efforts towards managing home. For example, Indian people who had migrated to other countries recently, often have problems to take bunch of responsibilities all at once, when they start living in apartments

To conclude, not only juveniles who start living separately, may only have limited emotional support, but also they are burdened with responsibilities
