In the majority of countries, young generations are becoming overweight and poor health. I partly agree with this viewpoint, as the government has a fundamental role in reducing unhealth food. However, I am convinced that parents are equally, if not more, vital for long-term achievement in regulation of overweight and unhealthy.
Perhaps the most significant benefit of the government’s role is that it can restrict influencers who constantly promote unhealthy food. When influencers promote fast food such as burger, pizza, and hamburgers through social media like YouTube, Instagram, and Tik Tok, children are more likely to buy that food without thought its harmful effects to health. This is exemplified by children who spend most of their time on social media and lead a hectic lifestyle. They often follow well-known influencers and try to imitate their lifestyles, no matter how difficult they are to achieve. Consequently, they may develop new habits, such as impulse buying, suffer from health problems like obesity, and become dissatisfied with their own lives. Therefore, the government play an immensely role to restrict influencers and prevent the number of diseases, be it obesity or poor health.
I, on the other hand, do believe that parents also play a powerful role in overcoming these problems, such as overweight and poor health. With parents teaching children about the drawbacks of fast food, helping them leave their comfort zones, and encouraging them to try new hobbies and engage in sports, children are able to realize the harmful effects of unhealthy habits on their health. If children are regularly engaging in sports such as running, walking, pull-ups, and push-ups, they become healthier. Beyond its immediate impact on health, it also enables them to tackle problem of overweight and helping them to achieve a good shape. A perfect example in point would be athletics who engage in sports regularly and restrict a wider range of unhealthy food in their lives, they may not suffer from overweight or poor health throughout their lives. In this regard, while the government undoubtedly can reduce influencers, I do content that parents are equally important to tackle these challenges.
In conclusion, although the government plays a crucial role in preventing children from becoming overweight and unhealthy, parents also have a significant responsibility. Therefore, both government actions and parental guidance are essential to encourage healthier lifestyles among children.
