It is a hard truth that most of the good schools and medical facilities are available only in cities around the world. Public opinions have divided into two different views regarding better schools and medical facilities. Some people think that teachers and doctors should work in rural areas throughout their lives. While others argue that everyone has the freedom to choose their workplaces. In this essay I will discuss both views and I believe that professionals should work in rural areas also as it falls within their duties but not by forcing.
On the one hand, there are numerous reasons why some people say that teachers and doctors should work in rural areas. Firstly, a major part of population live in village.Because, everything is cheaper in the countryside than compared to cities whereas living in a city may be quite expensive most of people’s cannot afford to live in cities. For instance, in countries like Bangladesh, a majority of people live in village. They cannot afford a better medical treatment because of a few numbers of doctors may be available there and most of them are village quack. And this case is the same for schooling. In villages, a few number of teachers associated with local schools in the rural areas . Therefore, most of children in village are deprived from proper education.
On the other hand, it is irrefutable that the world is becoming more competitive. Everyone wishes to have better career, opportunities which leads to a better life for them as well as their families. Regarding to this, most teachers and doctors want their posting in cities .And a city provides better job facilities such as handsome payment, good transportation ultimately a heathy and secure life. Moreover, in cities, technology for education system also makes it easier which might not get in backward areas since network problem is a continuous obstacle there.
I believe that everyone has a right to access better treatment as well as basic education. And teacher and a doctor can play a significant role for fulfilling these need. To do, professionals should be more responsible towards their career and try to make sure that everyone can have the rudimentary needs. But this feeling should come from their heart, not by coercion because doing so that would be counterproductive.
