In recent decades modern structures have been innovated their outlook in some nations. Meanwhile, some are inclined to the idea that these countries should maintain the traditional style as a way of cultural reservation. Personally, I partly agree with this opinion.
One main reason why some individuals advocate for continue to using the old style of buildings due to the economic growth. In other words, constructing houses followed the traditional style can attract a flock of tourism, as visitors curiosity is sparked. As a result, travelers may please to invest money into locations with ancient appearance. A good illustration of this is, in recent years, visitors are drawn to destinations where encompass traditional factors such as Hoi An or Ninh Binh in Viet Nam.
Nevertheless, a segment of the population argues against the above idea. A common argument is that demanding all modern buildings to follow the traditional styles may be unrealistic, meaning that all houses may have to design as they were in the past. This can be uncomfortable for residents, since the needs in today’s society possess a huge difference compared to that in the old days. For instance, lately living in an apartment has gained popularity among residents, as it satisfies users’ needs. This shift helps people to experience a higher quality of life.
To encapsulate, although maintaining the old design for architects can protect the culture of a country, I strongly recommend that it is better to balance the cultural features and the cutting edge design to suit individuals’ demand.
