These days, in many countries, people and governments spend a good deal of money on national days like New Year and religious days. Some people think this is a waste of money, while others believe it’s very important. I partially agree with both views.
On one hand, national celebrations bring people together. These days make people happy and help them enjoy time with family and friends. Many businesses also make more money than on other days during these festivals. For example, shops sell more gifts, and restaurants have more customers. This helps the economy grow.
On the other hand, spending too much money on celebrations can be a problem too. Some governments spend millions on fireworks, concerts, and decorations. For example, in Dubai, for one celebration, a rich person spent $2 million just on fireworks. This money could be used for hospitals, schools, and helping poor people. Also, individuals sometimes spend more money than they have. For example, some people buy expensive gifts and food for this day, then struggle with money later.
In my opinion, celebrations are important, but people and governments should not spend too much. They should find a balance, enjoying the festivals but also saving money for important things. For example, instead of big and expensive fireworks, the government can spend on giving meals to people who can’t buy them. People can also celebrate in a simple way without wasting money.
In conclusion, national days and festivals are good for our friendship and happiness, but spending too much money is not good. In my opinion, a balance is the best solution.
