In many parts of the world, food and beverage companies are using increasingly more plastic packaging. While there are some drawbacks of this, I believe the benefits are more significant.
On the other hand, one of the disadvantages of plastic packaging is threat to ecology. Large amount of waste plastic ends up in landfills and oceans. Where it can take hundred years to decompose. Not only it contributes to pollution but also damage to wildlife, animals often mistake plastic for food. Another problem is that it can lead to soil degradation. Plastic packaging may release harmful chemicals that can effect soil fertility and it might be damage to plant growth.
However, there are some benefits of plastic containers. The first advantage is lightweight. which makes them convenient to carry and transport. This is helpful for companies to deliver large amount of products. Plastic is also strong and it doesn’t damage or break easily unlike glass. Moreover, another advantage is preserving products freshness. Plastic can protect against air and bacteria which are can cause food poisoning.
In conclusion, there are some drawbacks associated with plastic container, such as damage to ecology and soil. However, these are not as significant as the benefits, which include preserving freshness and durability.
