Advantage And Disadvantage

Band 5+: In many countries, small shops and town centers are going out of business, because people tend to drive to large out- of town stores. This results in an increase in car use, and it also means that people without cars? Limited access to out –town stores. Do you think the advantages of such development outweigh the disadvantages?

In many nations, number of city center shops are going bankrupt because people these days prefer to shop from big shopping centers that are far from the city. While this presents challenges for them without private cars and contributes to potential widespread car usage. I believe there are significant benefits of this trend which can outweigh the disadvantages.

Primarily, large shopping center offers wide range of variety of products to all age groups. Most of the people find difficulties in small stores to find the desired product that they want, consequently, they preferred to visit big stores which can be best options for them to select the products, cloths, and others etc., according to the price and quality. For example, there is a supermarket name called Bhat-Bhateni, which is the top location for convenient shopping experience due to the fact that they serve all kinds of services in one building like clothing’s, groceries, cosmetics, kitchen wares, liquors, fresh fruits and vegetables. Additionally, they also provide entertainment facilities such as play areas for kids, and cinema theatres, making them a perfect place for a family day out. I think this could be a great advantage for citizens because it helps them to access all needs and preferences in one place.

However, there are some highly undesirable effect of this development. Foremost among them is increase in travelling cost and time. This means that to visit large city malls, people have to travel long miles from rural towns which raise the travelling fare and duration. As a result, this will double the use of private cars and only few downtown routes vehicles will be available in the roads, which causes congestions, environmental pollutions, and other problems. Therefore, i think this can be eliminated, if government make the strict rules and regulations against it.

In conclusion, although people running towards big cities stores would soar in fare and time, i believe this downside is greatly outweighed by the advantage that it gives multiple varieties of stores, gaming zone places, cinema halls which is entertaining for publics.
