There is an ongoing debate between nations who believe the government should invest more in arts rather than in fitness and schooling. While arts have its merits, I firmly believe a person’s well-being and their education are much more essential for a nation’s development.
On one hand, it is undeniable that arts have many important values. One major aspect of art is that it comes in various forms, and one of the most crucial ones is music. Music has been a big inspiration for many civilizations from ancient times to the modern era. Those songs contain people’s feelings, wishes and motivations that they cannot express by plain words. For example, songs which are created by black people may contain some deeper meaning about fighting against racism, as it is their wish to be treated more equally.
On the other hand, people nowadays are more concerned about their health as well as their knowledge, as they are crucial for the progress of a country. Before concentrating on arts or music, a person first needs to be healthy enough to do anything. People are the ones creating arts, and healthcare serves to protect people from illness, so it can be said that without health, art cannot exist. The same goes with education, studying is a form of art itself. Children going to school is an investment in their future, as they can grow up and contribute to their nation. Moreover, Children learn arts at school, so a child with a passion in art can continue developing new art forms. A healthy and well-educated child who is interested in the arts means that arts can be preserved and developed.
In conclusion, arts are an important aspect that government should keep investing in; however, health and education take precedence that a nation should focus on for the improvement of it’s citizens.
