The huge irrelavence between what is presented to students through traditional education system and the actual skills required in the current workforce has been found in most countries. Here, the discussion would be focused on filling this gap by discusting the reasons behind it and suggesting techtiques that both educational institutions and employers could utilized to fill this gap.
One critical aspect that causes this gap between the educational system and the workforce, is the lack of guidance in the educational plan. Most of these plans are designed by professors who never has experienced the work environment and never worked in a company in their entire lives, which makes them focus mainly on theories and conceptual ideas instead focusing on integrating practical skills exercises to the curriculam. Moreover, neglecting soft skills development within the collage environment due to the huge focus on grading the student based on written exams and not taking into account the oral and presentational abilities of the student in the grading criteria makes most of these student unable to present themselves.
Tackling this problem is not impossible and it needs to be approach in a studied way. First, real employees from esteemed companies should work alongside professors and educational staff to guide them into incorporating important subjects that could help in developing those skills into the study plan. In addition, student must spend most of their times working partially for companies during there time in collage as a requirement for graduating, most suitabily working remotely to balance between work and study since both are needed to develop the required skills.
In conclusion, bridging the gap between what is presented in universities and the required qualifications for jobs is a subject that should be approach wisdely and I personally think that investing enough time in developing strategies to address this problem as soon as possible is important especially the changes that needs to be taken in the educational curriculam.
