It has become increasingly common for grandchildren to expend rarely their time with their grandparents. It can be attributed to the confluence of being distance and impact of technology. It has negative trend due to missing their grandchildren and not having advices.
There are several reasons that young people do not spend their time with their grandparents. One of the main reasons is that with young people moving for education, work, or personal reasons, it can be challenging to visit grandparents regularly. This is mainly because they live far away. However, some of them will attend to see their grandparents twice a year. Another reason is that they cannot meet with each other because of developing the technology. This is because technology gives many opportunities, such as phone calls or video chats. We can connect from long distance.
There are two negative effects of this tendency. Firstly, grandparents often have a deep emotional connection to their grandchildren. They enjoy spending time together, sharing stories and others. However, they feel sadness for not having connections with them. They miss memories associated with their grandchildren, such as helping with homework, playing games, and doing other activities when their grandchildren were younger. Secondly, this reduces the chances for grandchildren to receive life advice, guidance, and stories that grandparents share. This is because the young people are away from them. Because they are old, they know more about life and life’s challenges compared to us.
In conclusion, in some states, young people are not spending their time with their grandparents. The main reasons are being long of way and affecting of technology as well as pining their grandparents and not getting counsels.
