Band 5: In marriage today, some argue that it is the responsibility of both spouses to earn a living for the family. To what extent do you agree or disagree? (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 2 Essay)

Nowadays both husband and wife should work in order to increase wealth for the family. İ completely agree with this statement.Firstly, working together can increase the financial freedom of family, secondly it can be profitable for families when they face difficulties .

One of the foremost reason is having two working people in the family can generate additional income. Today in most countries the value of living is increasing day by day such as the price of products, the cost of homes as a result family may suffer from budget deficit or financial problems. Therefore when both spousers work together they can pay the expenses easily. Furthermore, families with children may have additional expenses such as education, sport, cloth and so on. As a result it can be arduous for the families which they have 1 working person to cover these expenses. Statistics show that familes which have 2 earning people have good stadard life and live more comfortable than families which have 1 working person

Second reason is working together can be helpful to respond easily to some emergencies.In some cases people face with difficulties such as losing job.When one of members of family loses their work in this case with the support of other’s wage they can cover some expenses.As well as it may give additional time for person who lost his/ her job in order to look for job or finding it.This can be lucrative for these families to overcome some unexpected situations.

İn conclusion from my point of view İ totally agree that spouser should work to cover some expenses and to respond efficently to unforseen circumstamces.
