It is generally known that there is a growing belief in sharing responsibility of partners in contributing financial support to family. I personally agree with this statement to some extents, with the reasons that will be elaborated in this essay.
On the one hand, it is true that financial stability become one of goals in marriage life. The combined income of both partners can lead to an improvement in living standards, which are education, housing, and transportation. Multiple contribution to family finance can accelerate family financial goals and enable the family to have enough financial support in facing unexpected things such as illness, loss of job, or sudden death of one of spouses.
On the other hand, though, we should consider another perspective that in particular situation, financial support is only provided by the husband. For the marriage couple who have a baby, the family priorities also lean to providing best parenting and education in children golden year. Thus, the couple should reach an agreement in sharing the role in house hold.
To sum up, it seems to me that sharing responsibility in contributing financial support for family are worth with some reasons that lead to living standard improvement. However, the household is not only about material. It also includes an important thing such as parenting style and communication in playing the role as a couple.
