While this shift can pose formidable challenges, particularly in terms of unrealistic expectations and overconsumption, I personally regard it as predominantly advantageous especially emphasizing its capacity to inform educate and entertain consumers.
One concern related to advertising is exaggeration. With influencers multiple channels can lead to information overload, overwhelming consumers with excessive content. This abundance of choices can result in decision fatigue. The implication are not confined to individuals where they may make hasty purchases but also extend to overconsumption, ultimately buying some items without adequate consideration. A perfect case in point would be mobile apps which constantly interrupt gameplay or some items and ads
Despite these drawbacks, I firmly believe that advertisement’s impact can generate more sustainable benefits, one of which is increased awareness and price competition. When advertising effect has positives it expose individuals to a plethora of options across diverse product categories. By offering insights into various brands,product features, functionalities, to name but a few. Advertising empower consumers to make informed decision that align with their needs, preferences and budgets. However, advertising stimulates price competition, prompting companies to offer promotional offers to attract consumers. This is exemplified by Amazon which is a e- commerce platform advertise flash sales and limited-time discounts.
In conclusion, although advertising may involve some negatives, I am more convinced that its merits awareness are far more profound and ultimately outweigh the drawbacks
