In the last few decades, there has been a profound increase in the number of people who make the decision to live by themselves. One main reason for this trend is due to the lower annual income of people. From my perspective, this can have beneficial effects on society in various ways, as it helps boost economy.
To begin, there is an argument to be made that the primary reason behind this trend is parents’ poor financial situations. To illustrate this point, an increasing number of the youth leave their hometown soon after they graduate from their schools, as they cannot be financially dependent on their parents. Therefore, it is clearly evident that individuals opt to live alone, because they cannot receive financial support from their parents or relatives.
In terms of whether this trend is beneficial, I am of the fierce belief that this trend can stimulate the economy. To exemplify, in Japan, many economists have confirmed that a rise in the number of people who live by themselves has boosted economy drastically, as they spend more money on something such as daily necessities or daily meals than living with their parents. Therefore, it is undeniable that the growth in the number of the people who live alone can improve economic situation.
To conclude, the overwhelming evidence seems to suggest that this trend is due to people’s financial backgrounds. However, I consider this trend to be positive, because it can result in economic growth.
