Nowadays, plethora of citizens preferred to read books online rather than hard copy books. Although there are few disadvantages of it, I personally believe that advantages are much stronger.

There are several benefits of reading soft copy books over hard copy ones. The predominant one among them is electronic books can be easily carried from one place to another. To be more precise paper based books acquire plenty of space, whereas the online books can be stored in a smartphone. Consequently, people who love reading books while travelling find it difficult to carry hard copy with them so they preferred to read online books. Another point worth mentioning is that e-books are relatively cheaper than paper based books. In other words as it is available online,there are offers and discount available parallel to it, while the hard copy books, community needs to pay the original cost of the book as well as the taxes. For instance, in Diwali, festival of lights, the original price of the book Harry Potter is 2000. Surprisingly, this book will be available at thousand rupees online, including discounts and festival bonus. In contrast, same book if purchased, a hard copy will cost around 2500 including taxes.

On the other hand, there are few drawbacks of reading e-books rather than paper based books which cannot be neglected. Citizens who read online books for longer period of time are prone to strain their eyes. Explaining in simple terms. In order to read soft copy book, they have to continuously stare on the mobile or laptop screen. Few people read it for straight 2 to 3 hours. As a result, the blue light emitting from the display causes the eyes to strain as well as watery.

In conclusion, the major pros of reading soft copy books rather than the hard copy ones are. It is portable, that is, it can be easily carried from one location to another. In addition to that, online books are comparatively cheaper than the paper ones. However, the cons are, reading e-books for longer hours can result in eye strain or sometimes headache.
