In some nations, quick-service restaurants and supermarkets offer money to schools to enhance their products. In my point of view, there may be some drawbacks for students because most fast foods or ready-made foods are not good for human health.
Firstly, school is one of the good places to advertise fast-food chains because it can easily attract school-going children, which can enhance their revenue gradually. By promoting their products in school areas, they can obtain a lot of financial benefits, and they do not need to spend much money on it rather than advertising on broadcasting channels. For instance, according to research in 2010, McDonald’s, one of the biggest food chains, has gained a 20% increase in profits by offering promotions in high schools. Secondly, from the perspective of the organization, there is no risk due to the amount of the target audience. Moreover, they can reduce the tax amount, and they can create a win-win situation for their business.
On the other hand, fast food can negatively affect children’s health, and some fast foods are too oily, and some restaurants do not care about the hygiene of the product. However, children love to eat some kinds of fast food such as fried chicken, hamburgers, fried chips, and so on. They can get a cough and other diseases by eating those kinds of food, and then finally, they can become obese. Moreover, students can get food poisoning from something they ate or drank, or some students can have allergic reactions to certain foods such as nuts, seafood, and so on. This can also have a drastic effect on the product’s image.
In conclusion, although there can be some beneficial impacts for business owners, I believe that there are more disadvantages for human health, and promoting their brands in schools would be a negative development.
