Band 4: In some countries, people are having children at a later age in life. What are the reasons? Do the advantage outweigh the disadvantage ? (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 2 Essay)

In some nations , individuals are having their off springs at later stage of there life .There are many reasons for this and while there are few disadvantages , the advantages are far more.

Nowadays , due to hectic life schedule and competitive environment , youths are not getting enough time to plan for a child as it would require a lot of attention and money. Moreover, people are also educated to have a child only when they are mature enough to handle them,as, raising them requires a great understanding and wisdom. Lastly, there are trends of nuclear family going on ,in which they live away from there elders . Earlier, when they had combined family there were many people to look after the child but now , elders pay a visit once in a while.

Having kids at later age have some disadvantage which includes, some disabilities and difficulties while having the child. Human body is more efficient in their youth and when hey turn old they might get some problem due to the stressful environment which includes sperm deficiency in male and weaker placenta in female. These risk factors are mostly seen in later age. Due to this , many people visit IVF centre which further results in having a child whose immunity system is weak.

On the other hand, when a couple plans for a child at latter age they are mostly prepared and have enough to provide for the child , also they are more mature and can take care of the child in a better way. In later are when they are settled in their life , they can give enough time to there child which would be essential for giving better discipline to them. A research have shown that those who have child at later stage are mostly a good parents and there child achieve a lot in their lifetime. Moreover , in this stage they are financially stable and can spend better on their education , medicine , food and various other nessacity .

In conclusion, people are having child at later stage of their life due to hectic lifestyle and due to the trend of nuclear family. While there are some disadvantage which includes problem in conceiving and during delivery, the advantages such as, taking better care of their child and to support their child better, are far more.
