In this contemporary epoch, people are having to work hard to catch up with the development of vibrant social scenses. Therefore, the part – time jobs are becoming more and more prevalent in this day and age, especially among teenagers .Athough, the benefits it brings are undeniable but I strongly believe that it can also have a keen negative influence on adolescents. In this essay, I will explain both the pros and cons of the issue.
On the one hand, one of the most obvious benefits that young people learn during their working life is time – management skills.Despite their busy schedules, they are still flexible in balancing and making best use of their study and work time to gain the effective results in their goals.Secondly, making a living off the part – time jobs can develop communication skills. For instance, they will have more opportunities to broaden their knowledge from real- life experiences when they interacting with different people and acessing to multi-cultural diversity of many countries. It not only helps them to understand the reality of life but also boost self-confidence and self- independent of youth. Finally, a part-time jobs provides extra pocket money. Teenagers can use it to buy some of the things they need or want.
On the contrary, having a part-time job while studying may be harmful to teenagers’ health and mental wellness. For example, they have less time to take it easy and study, which can potentially lead to other health issues such as sleepness, tiredness and more illnesses. In additon, when young people work, they might lose focus on the vital of learning, they discard their studies and miss out on essential knowledge .Moreover, if teenagers fail to balance work and study, they may not be able to get good grades or may even drop out of school.
To sum up, the fact that young people have part-time jobs is like a double-edged sword, so we need to consider carefully before making decisions to avoid affecting their studies and achieving expected results in the future
