Age differences between parents and children often come with certain influences on both parental couples and their offspring. In my opinion, though older parents may have presented some possible problems, its substantial benefits seem to outweigh its own drawbacks.
Some people argue that older parents, particularly the mothers, may experience lower levels of social support, as their friends and family will be relatively older and, therefore, potentially less available to provide assistance. However, this circumstance tremendously enhances the bonding love and responsibility of both partners as the urge to rely on and help each other in raising a child. One research showed that older fathers have been found to be more highly involved in parenting than their younger counterparts. The foremost core of a long-lasting and happy home is where it contains stability, love and responsibility, and those are what older parents can provide , so it obviously sounds reasonable and feasible to be continuously implemented.
Furthermore, those who delay their marriage and are likely to have children later in life have a greater maturity, experience and preparedness for the long-term relationship with parental duties. This is because they had an opportunity to dedicatedly work on self development and strive determinedly for a successful career, which deliberately establishes a secure finance, strong self esteem and reliability. This will result in a solid capacity to be an attentive parents who are not only capable of giving wise advice on how to navigate their children’s life, creating advantageous environment to help their child live up to the fullest potential but also experienced enough to really know what pain and compassion are, enabling them to be more considerate and respecting their children’s emotions, leading to a healthy mental development, which is the pivotal factor in how to build a good person.
In conclusion, although age differences bring some difficulties at initial stages, its stability supports the long run in life, which is not only beneficial for each family, but also affects positively at a societal level.
