It is undeniable that nowadays many teenagers are getting a part-time job while they are still in school There has much controversy about whether teenagers have part-time job brings more benefits or drawbacks. In my opinion, this situation has more disadvantages.
On the one hand this situation has many advantages. First of all, Getting part-time jobs requires teenagers many valuable skills. They can deal with many kinds of problems. Further more, doing hands-on activities on a regular basis build a strong character and develop personally in teenagers. As a result, teenagers become more mature and more responsible.
In contrast, the disadvantages about teenagers getting part -time jobs are quite noticeable. The first one is that teenagers can’t have a well-round education if they have part-time jobs. They don’t have time to do homework or projects or prepare for the next classes. It affects their learning progress. Also, having part-time jobs prevents teenagers from extracurricular activities and also group assignment. For example, a teenager spends most of her time for her part-time job that the rest of the time, she doesn’t have enough time to handle her assignments at school. Another disadvantage of having part-time jobs is that you can easily get depressed of pressures from friends, family and life.
To sum up, it is apparent that the disadvantages of the trend about teenagers having a part-time job overwhelms the advantages. However, teenagers can have a part-time job if they can manage their time between their studies and their works.
