On the one hand, the benefits can be seen clearly. Firstly, people around the world can interact with each others, sharing their knowledges and cultural aspects. This create opportunities for developments and new chances for doing business. For example, companies like Apple, Amazon, Boeing… have international impact thanks to their advancement in technology, people can purchase and do business with their products, you can set up your store on Amazon and sell your items globally; and with the progress in aircraft manuefacturing, Boeing and other brand like Airbus, have made flying commercially a common sight, which open a new door for transportation and encourage culture to be shared to different parts of the world. Secondly, communication has never been easier than before. With just a phone, an individual can access to the Internet and talk to friends, relatives using social media in any time and any where. In addition, lessons can be taken with this method of communication through online meeting platform like Google Meet, Zoom, Discord, e.t.c.
On the other hand, some method of travelling are causing environmental damages. Planes and cars produce a lot of CO2, dumping it into the air and contribute to the warming of earth asmotsphere. Ships, large vessels that usually use ballast tanks to stabilise are wiping out the underwater eco-system, because they take up water (which contain algae, sea snails,…) of one part of the world and dump it out after they dock in another part of the earth, the invasive creatures inside the tank are exposed to new environment, eating and destroying the balance of the food chain, which reduce the range of species in that area. Despite the downside, this can be overcome in a lot of ways. Private vehilces are shifting toward electric motors, and short distance aerial travel can be cover by solar powered aircraft, reducing greenhouse gas emission. Floating vessels are suggested to dry dock and purify their own ballast tank before releasing it into the ocean. This evidence proved that the downside is insignificant compare to the benefit that it gives.
In conclusion, the development of air travel and online meeting platforms have pushed interaction between nations. Despite the environmental issues, humans can now have business internationally and share their culture to other people.
