While the internet provides easy access to information, I strongly disagree that schools are no longer necessary.
First, information is not the same as education. The internet is full of unverified facts that can easily confuse young learners. Teachers in schools help children understand information, develop critical thinking, and stay focused. Most children also lack the self-discipline to learn effectively at home without a structured routine.
Second, schools teach important social skills that cannot be learned through a screen. By interacting with classmates and teachers every day, children learn how to communicate, work in teams, and resolve conflicts. Learning alone at home deprives children of these real-world social experiences and can lead to isolation.
In conclusion, although the internet is a great learning tool, it cannot replace the personal guidance, structure, and social development that schools provide. Educational institutions remain essential for children.
