In the past, individuals were more likely to travel to foreign countries for seeking many varieties from their home country. Nowadays, cities around the world are becoming relatively similar. While several reasons can be caused for this development, it can offer more benefits than drawbacks in some ways.
Without a doubt, globalization among similarities of cities across the globe can be attributed owing to recent factors. As multinational companies expand as faster as possible around the world, all cities in the world are more likely to be relatively similar because of same brands, shopping malls, and restaurants, which cause nearly the same architectures for constructing buildings or infrastructures. Given these circumstances, it comes as no surprise that distinct local cultures, traditions, and language will diminish over time, thereby becoming cultural homogenization throughout the world.
From an optimistic perspective, standardizing global cities can serve as a powerful catalyst for accelerating economic growth. If urban areas in the world become more and more similar, tourists are more inclined to accept familiar environment abroad, thereby helping them to easier international travel. As a result of this familiar atmosphere, in a country, there may have a dramatic increase of its tourism year by year, which in turn, fostering economic growth in a country. Take Asian countries as a great example like Uzbekistan, where the majority of buildings in cities were built through using European architectures, thus attracting thousands of tourists to visit that country.
In conclusion, at present, globalization among cities across the globe can be contributed due to certain factors, and this trend does more good than harm to many countries because of improving economically.
