Band 5+: Increasing car usage in many large global cities has caused a number of problems. Some cities have proposed banning large vehicles from the city centre.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The traffic jams are becoming common everywhere especially the urban areas. Some people thinks that one way to accommodate traffic jams during the peak hours is to ban large trucks in the busy city sites. I totally agree with the stance and will give my suggestions on how this measure could help and other factors that can also contribute in improving flow of traffic in the city centers.

Heavy vehicles should not be allowed during the rush time in the urban areas for the following reasons. The primary reason is, as the mostly roads are narrow in the cities and these vehicles are slow in speed so the flow of the traffic is disturbed. Moreover, at the peak time people get late from their offices and kids from schools. The other reason is due to the frequent use of the roads by heavy traffic the condition of the road becomes poor and it results in traffic jams as the vehicles stuck in the pots. Lastly, it is also better for the economy as due to the poor road conditions the government has to again and again build the road again.

The other factors that can contribute in solving this traffic issue is construct alternate routes for the heavy trucks. To illustrate, bypass roads can be made to avoid this traffic from going to the urban areas. Another improvement can be done by recruiting more traffic police officers so they can handle the traffic in most of the rush areas.

In conclusion, the authorities should make sure that the drivers uses the alternate routes and follow the rules defined for them in the rush areas otherwise if failed to do so heavy fines should be imposed. Social awareness about following the road rules can also improve the condition of road jams.
