Information technology make many people able to do their work outside their office. But, this ability has advantages like employees have more family time and are able to manage their working time. However, it has its disadvantages like coworkers have problem to synchronize with each other and supervisors cannot manage their team easily.
In many jobs, information technology makes employees to do their job from home or any other places and most of people prefer remote jobs because of its benefits. Surely, in a remote job, everything is under your control, so; you are able to manage your working time. For example, some people prefer to sleep late and do their task at the evening. In addition, if you can do your job from home, you will spend more time with your family rather than your co-workers. For instance, when you want to rest middle of your work, you are able to see and talk to your partner and your children. To put it more simply, you are close to your family rather than your coworkers when you have a remote job.
On the other hand, this kind of jobs can make many problems too. Firstly, it is so harder for team members to communicate with each other and share their tasks results. For example, imagine a situation that two members of a team want to start their work early morning, but others prefer to start at the evening. In this case, it is so hard for everyone to find a good time for their meetings. Also, it is harder for team leaders to manage their team members and their task. In fact, team leaders are not able to get in touch with the others continuesly and track their task. For this reason, they have to set many meetings with team members one by one and in separated groups.
In conclusion, modern technologies create new remote jobs age and it has its advantages and disadvantages, however; I believe that its benefits are more and we should accept it and align with it.
