Information technology has undoubtedly changed all stereotypes about traditional forms of work, such as that workers must be in the workplace. IT gives an opportunity to work everywhere and at any time when it’s convenient for people. However, we should consider the upsides and downsides of the medal.
The benefits of working outside the workplace are flexibility, accessibility to self-relation and saving time. This can be comfortable for those who have physical illnesses and prefer non-traditional jobs because of this circumstance doesn’t allow work in their workplace. Working outside requires a lot of expenditure like transport, meals outside the house and work-related expenses. It’s reducing the cost of daily needs, thereby increasing employee’s income. Some people believe that their focus on work is more accurate without the distractions and communication with colleagues. Additionally, when individuals don’t spend time for movement and other unnecessary activities, they have a lot of time for self-care. It could be going to the gym, reading a book, relaxing and time with close peoples. Furthermore, individuals can work everywhere around the world, so the work don’t disturb their private lives.
Unfortunately, information technology has drawbacks like isolation, blurring of work- life balance and dependence on technology. Working remotely deprives people of real communication, connection with others and social interaction. With distant work, it can be more difficult to separate a work and personal life, leading to a lot of time on computers. Humans cannot work more effectively. When individuals work outside, they can’t do collaboration and exchange information with others. Unreliable quality internet connection violates work process and internet procedure.
From these arguments, one could conclude that information technology in the field of jobs has a good impact on people but at the same time a disadvantage.Individuals should choose a more suitable option for them and mitigate potential risk.
