These days, the working environment is changing rapidly and evolving so the adaptability of employees is often emphasized. Many people have argued that workers over 50 are less suitable to work in the modern environment, leading to a preference for younger workers and I agree with this point of view.
On the one hand, younger gen approach easily tech and digital. They can be more comfortable with the latest technologies and digital tools, and readily access new softwares and platforms. For example, in a company, younger employees usually use new software to arrange schedules and timeline such as Notion, or ChatGPT, Gemini to get to work quickly. Also, they have no difficulty learning and applying new features of these tools in their daily work. This not only increases productivity but also effectively saves time.
On the other hand, the ability to adapt to modern technologies of people over 50 years old is lower. Because technology in the workplace changes rapidly and frequently, they may not be able to access new digital tools such as task management software, online teamwork tools as quickly as younger people. Besides, the modern work environment often requires flexibility, speed and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once. This can cause great stress and pressure for some older people, affecting their work performance..
In conclusion, younger employees can adapt to quickly evolving concepts in today’s workplace than employees over the age of 50 and it creates a force of potential young people in the future.
