In contemporary times, while some individuals argue that instructing primary children to grow plants and raise animals is essential, others do not advocate and are worried about hygiene. This essay will support my argument that its benefits outweigh its drawbacks.
On the one hand, the major disadvantage of this activity is related to health. It is undeniable that engaging in planting vegetables or keeping animals means exposure to soil and feathers which are sometimes unclean. This may ultimately pose a potential threat to the young’s well-being, resulting in several serious health problems, such as hand-foot-and-mouth disease, and allergies.
However, learning how to cultivate and take care of pets may offer a number of merits dominating the demerit above. First, these extracurricular classes constitute a significant role in children’s development. To be more precise, these lessons may equip elementary students with an adequate amount of knowledge about living organisms. If they were trained about nature, they would comprehend how challenging these growing processes are. As a result, they will foster a strong bond with the natural world, raising their awareness of preserving ecosystems. Furthermore, participating in these activities enables them to release studying stress. Rather than being overwhelmed with assignments, primary students may have opportunities to enjoy fresh air, which is advantageous for their overall health. Some can also improve their interest in fauna and flora, nurturing their dreams of becoming scientists as well.
In conclusion, despite a concern about hygiene, the benefits that planting or raising skills offer dominate its drawbacks. These activities may play a crucial role in elementary students’ development and health.
