This question is weighed based on perspective if i must say. I completely agree that some extinct animals from the pre-historic era was a natural process. For instance, animals from that era, such as: Dinosaurs, Mammoths, Sabers, and others were extinct mainly because of the Armageddon. Yes, some animals managed to survive and breed to this very day but, if we’re talking modern era, we can’t ignore that there are some human’s intervention.
Thats why i disagree if the statement was “There is no reason for people to prevent this from happening”. Humans couldn’t prevent the Armageddon. But based on the database, there are more than 1.000 species that goes extinct because of our own greed and desire. Humans kills valuable animals mostly because they have something that can make them rich. For instance, Dodo Bird. The europeans primarily targeted this specific bird because of their fur and beak. Because of its high price, more humans rapidly mass murdered these species untill it was declared extinct during the late 1600’s.
Humans can completely prevent animals from going extinct. With our current technology, its easy to put dangered animals in a wildlife sanctuary in order to breed. Even though realistically we can’t save all animals, but it is important to know that humans plays a crucial role in order to prevent a species going extinct. Those who kills animals illegally should be heavily punished or fined. Not only it will affect the killer, but also as a warning to everyone that animals should not be used for human deeds.
