It is a wise belief that the members of the family should not use devices or mobile technology, leading to negative effects on the health of family and interaction. From my perspectives, I partly agree with this view on account of the reasons that follow.
Admittedly, there are valid supporting the idea that using own devices technology for each member in the family may cause negative effects. First, today’s families are not the same emotion compared to the past, the reason why is that each member spends more time on screen rather than a direct conservation. Moreover, older members such as parents or even grandparents are also surfing the web every hour, and they are seen to forget their responsibility caring for younger people and modeling for young people in the family. For example, average Vietnam’s families are addicted to technology due to the lack of care from their parents. Another disadvantage of technology affecting the bond family is that convenient technology fostered people a sense of safety and comfort, hence, they are not seen to be concerned about the huge impact on their family.
Despite the considerations, I maintain that the connection between each member has more and more ties and solidarity thanks to device technology. To begin with, the benefit that technology brings for families is to eliminate gap generations, enabling all members to have a deeper understanding between older individuals and youth. To be specific, the children teach skills related to computers or smartphones for parents or grandparents, contributing to forming a close family and being interactive. Moreover, the family lives far away from each other. Using technology is the best solution for bonding with an emotional family. One of the main examples is that children go to university so far from home contact via smartphone is only a method to reduce homesickness.
In conclusion, while some people argue that modern technology breaks down relationship family and communication, it is my firm conviction that we do not deny the benefits of devices, mobile or modern technology, it promotes and remains the bond family.
