The topic of whether or not children should be allowed to make their own decisions is hotly debated in society. Many people believe that letting children do what they want has many advantages, whereas others believe that it can be a cause of multiple negative actions in the future. In my opinion, I completely agree with this statement, as this can teach them accountability later life.
First of all, giving children the chance to act independently will improve their problem-solving skills. If children are always told what to do, they might have problems deciding what they really want and will depend on others’ opinions. For instance, if a child has a chance to choose between extracurricular activities, they can better analyse their interests and make informed choices. This skill is very helpful in the future, whether in career, personal life,and relationships.

When they decide what to wear, what hobbies to pursue,or how to manage their time, they will learn how to take ownership of their actions. For instance, when a child forgets to do his homework, he faces the consequences and better understands the importance of responsibility and time management.
