Band 5+: It is more important to spend public money promoting a healthy lifestyle in order to prevent illness than to spend it on the treatment of people who are already ill. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In recent years, there has been growing debate over whether it is vital to spend money promoting a health lifestly than treating people who are already ill. I agree with this view to some extend. This essay explain main reasons for my opinion.

The primary reason why I agree is that promoting people a healthy lifestyle encourages to exercise regularly and eat health food. This means that they may be protected from serious disease such as obesity and heart disease. It is also worth mentioning that promoting a healthy lifestyle improves quality of life. If people always exersice and eat fresh healthy meals they can avoid some serious Illnesses. This enables people to live longer and enjoy better mental and physical life. Moreover this can help the government to save money due to people will not go to hospitals and there will be less patient in the hospital. Also the government start to produce less medicines.

However, medical treatment reduces people’s suffering. Many patients experience pain and discomfort because of their illnesses. By providing medicine, doctors can reduce their pain and help them rto get better more quickly. As a result, patients can return to their casual lives. Another, advantage is that people who are ill doctors can save their lives. There are some people who faced with serious disease and need immediate operation. So doctors perform operation and return people to their casual life.

To sum up, the government should invest in more on promoting a healthy lifestyle. Because preventing people from ilnesses is cheaper than trating them for a huge amount of money. Also if people always exersice and eat healthy food everyday they can live longer and they can enjoy their life.
