In the contemporary world, there has been an ongoing debate about whether travel is necessary to learn about different cultures and individuals, while others believe that books, movie, and the internet can provide similar knowledge. I partially agree with this statement, I will write its agree and disagree points in the subsequent paragraphs.
On the one hand, books, films, and online platforms make cultural learning more accessible and affordable. Individuals can explore traditions, history, and lifestyle of various countries without visitng or spending large amount of money on travel. For example, documentries and travel vlogs often present detailed information of local customs, food and tradition. Moreover, the internet helps people to connect from different cultural backgrounds, which helps individuals to boarden their understanding. Therefore, these resources are highly convenient and can offer a wide range of knowledge.
On the other hand, travelling provides a real life experience that cannot be replaced by virtual learning. when people visit a new country, they can direct interact with locals, experience and traditional festival, and taste different cuisine. Such experiences help individuald to develop emotional and cultural connection with nation. Furthermore, being present physically helps pepole to know cultural practice and history more accurately, which reduces the chances of misunderstanding, it often found in media sources.
In conclusion, although hard-cover, movie, and the internet are useful toolsto gain knowledge, but they can not fully replace the experiences of real-life travel. Therefore, I believe that both methods play an important roles, but travelling remains the most effective way to truly understand people and their cultures.
